project overview

Putting AI Center Stage Without Losing the Human

Abby Connect had two decades of trust behind it. Its website didn’t show it. The site felt dated, the message was spread thin, and Abby’s new AI receptionist had no clear place in the story. Abby needed a brand and website that showed its expertise, mission, and values. It also needed to launch AI in a way that felt true to a company built on human connection.

We started with the brand. We refreshed Abby’s visual identity and built its brand messaging from the ground up. Then we wrote and designed a new website that put the AI receptionist front and center. A month after launch, Abby brought us back for SEO and GEO. Later, we ran Stop Firing Humans, a three-phase campaign that turned Abby’s view on AI into a public stance.

BRANDING & GRAPHIC DESIGN

A Sharper Look for a Human + AI Brand

Abby’s existing logo stayed, but everything around it moved forward. We refreshed the color palette and dropped yellow and orange as primary colors. In their place, the palette now leads with purple, dark blue, and fuchsia. We swapped the old circles and bubbles for clean, thin lines and rolled out a new triangular brand pattern across every touchpoint.

Every graphic on the new site is custom. We designed a suite of thin-line, gradient icons to replace stock icons. We also made bespoke illustrations for each product and industry page. The result is a brand that feels modern and tech-forward, while still feeling like Abby.

MESSAGING & POSITIONING

One Story, Told the Same Way Everywhere

Abby knew who it was. It just hadn’t written it down. We started by listening. We dug into Abby’s history, its competitors, and the way its team talked about the work. From there, we pulled 20 years of culture and know-how into one clear story about who Abby is, who it serves, and why it matters.

The hardest question was how to talk about AI. Our answer was simple: The AI Receptionist handles scale, and Abby’s human receptionists bring the warmth. That one idea became the backbone of Abby’s Human + AI positioning. The result was a shared language Abby’s whole team could use, from sales calls to social posts. It became the foundation for the website, and it still runs through everything the brand says today.

CONTENT WRITING

Copy That Sells the People Behind the Tech

We turned the new messaging framework into copy, page by page, so the story Abby had defined now came through on its website. The voice guidelines set the tone: warm, clear, and confident, never stuffy or vague. The messaging pillars shaped the story each section tells. Human Connection comes through in Abby’s dedicated, in-house receptionist teams. Committed Partnership drives the Proven Process, and Continuous Innovation leads the AI receptionist.

Our rule for AI guided the hardest copy decisions. The AI Receptionist took center stage, but the copy keeps Abby’s human receptionists in the frame, so visitors see one service rather than a choice between people and tech. The buyer personas shaped the industry pages, which speak to real pain points: HIPAA compliance for medical practices, billable hours for law firms, and booked jobs for home services. SEO was built into the process from the start, so the site went live ready to rank.

Web Design

Designed Around How Buyers Decide

Choosing a receptionist service comes down to a few questions: How will my calls be handled? What will it cost? Will it work with the tools I already use? We built the site to answer each one in order.

Visitors start with a clear choice of human, AI, or both. From there, they find pages made for their industry and their use case, from after-hours coverage to client intake and appointment scheduling. Across the site, buyers get everything they need to decide: what sets Abby apart, the features they get, the tools it connects with, and clear pricing. Case studies, testimonials, and blog content back it all up. Sample call recordings even let visitors hear the service first. By the time they sign up, they know exactly what they’re getting.

The design keeps it all calm and easy to follow. Clean lines, custom icons, and plenty of white space give each section room to breathe. Photos of real people keep the human side of Abby front and center. The experience holds up just as well on a phone as on a desktop.

Behind the scenes, we built a library of global blocks and page templates. Abby’s team can now launch new pages and update existing ones in minutes, with every page staying on brand.

SEO & GEO

AI Mentions More Than Doubled in Three Months

A month after launch, Abby asked us to keep the momentum going. Each month we published four blogs mapped to the AI prompts Abby’s buyers were asking. We also optimized key landing pages and built hundreds of new backlinks.

Between October 2025 and January 2026, Abby’s AI search mentions rose from 197 to 421, and Gemini began citing the brand for the first time. Monthly active users grew 148%, key conversion events rose 27%, and ranking keywords climbed to 3,800. Core terms like “live virtual receptionist” and “virtual receptionist service” reached the top five.

INTEGRATED CAMPAIGNS

A Campaign That Made San Francisco Stop and Think

Abby believes AI should support people, not replace them. We built a three-phase campaign to say it out loud, in the city where AI is being built.

Phase one was a shock. Anonymous billboards across San Francisco read “Humanity Had a Good Run,” backed by open letters online. Phase two raised the stakes with NurtureOS, a fake AI parenting app that felt a little too real. People debated it online, and some even welcomed it. Phase three revealed Abby as the voice behind both. The closing message was simple: Stop Firing Humans.

We led the concept, copy, and creative, managed the media suppliers, and ran the launch and social amplification on Reddit and X. Commuters shared the billboards online, and the campaign now lives on Abby’s website as a statement of what the brand stands for.

Result

From Trusted Service to Industry Voice

Abby came to us with an outdated site and a new AI product it wasn’t sure how to talk about. Our job was to refresh the brand, sharpen the message, and give AI center stage without losing the human touch.

Today, Abby has a brand that looks the part and a message that holds together across every page. Our partnership continues today. Abby keeps bringing us its next big ideas, from new campaigns to partnerships and events, and we’re always glad to help bring them to life. Thank you, Abby, for trusting us with your story.
